Save and share passage plans

RTZ and RTZP (IEC 61174 route exchange, the format most modern ECDIS import directly), GPX, KML, KMZ and Bridge Master .route. Files are validated by content, not just by extension. Where possible, share routes as .rtz.

Browsing and downloading shared routes is open to everyone. Uploading routes and keeping a private library requires a free account — only your e-mail address is stored.

Private routes are visible only to you. Flip the share toggle and the route appears in the public list for other officers; download counts show which routes the fleet actually relies on. You can unshare or delete a route at any time.

Yes. RTZ and .route files open in a waypoint chart preview, so you can check the track before importing it into your ECDIS.

No. Shared routes are user-generated content and are not verified by SMART NAV TOOLS. Always appraise a route against your own ECDIS, official charts and the passage-plan requirements of SOLAS V/34 before using it.
